Amesbury had a late switch of venue but this did not affect a determined bunch of boys on a much cooler day then the rest of the week had been. The squad was trimmed to 8 players this week rather than the usual 10. Selection has always been tough for this team, with plenty of players vying for a slot in the A team. Amesbury batted first with 2 overs per pair, each over being 8 balls rather than 6. Some accurate bowling restricted Lanesborough throughout their innings. One good over from the visitors which had plenty of luck as well as swinging the bat meant that Lanesborough finished on 238. Amesbury then batted and the target was to not lose a wicket as a team. This was close to being achieved but some accurate bowling and some good catching meant we lost a couple of wickets. Some good running between the wickets as well as some risky singles meant that we kept th score board ticking over. A good game of cricket was played which showed the progress that all players have made in their bowling, batting or fielding through the cricket season. Well done boys.
