Wednesday 21st June
U11 B/C vs Kingscourt
Won 25.5-13
Batter of the match: Isabella
Fielder of the match: Georgie
Lady of the match: Emily
For this week’s match Amesbury were up against Kingscourt. Although is was a very hot afternoon to be out standing in the sun and playing rounders, the girls tried their absolute hardest and played fantastically. Starting off fielding, Amesbury quickly got into the swing of things, communicating and passing well to each other which helped keep the oppositions score to 7.5 rounders for the first innings. After batting for the first time the score was pretty even, with Amesbury ahead by only 2 rounders.
However, the girls really stepped things up during the second innings. Georgie did an awesome job as backstop, passing the ball accurately and quickly to 2nd post which was a big factor in getting 9 of the opposition players out. When it came to batting everyone did an incredible job. The ball was being hit all over the field with super strength and, as a result, a massive 16 rounders was scored by Amesbury in the 2nd innings. A big well done to both Isabella and Emily for their fantastic batting. They both had some lovely strikes at the ball and ran their fastest around the posts which was great to see. Well done girl’s on a fantastic win!!
