U11C Rounders v Ditcham Park: 10 May

Amesbury U11C 23 v 12 ½ Ditcham Park

In the glorious sunshine of what could be described as the start of summer, Amesbury played Ditcham Park over on Fyfield.

With a lengthy warm up the girls honed their skills and were clearly chomping at the bit once Ditcham Park arrived.

The match started with Ditcham batting first. Some excellent accurate bowling from Isabella meant that Ditcham found it hard to score many half and full rounders.

The fielding from the Amesbury girls was magnificent and the home spectators saw effort from all fielders. Orla, Amy and Charlie in the deep positions threw the ball in with power and accuracy.

Ditcham scored 6 and it was now Amesbury’s turn to bat. Olivia top scored in the innings and all girls contributed with half or full rounders, Amesbury scored 13.

Ditcham’s second innings took a similar path to the first innings, 3 outs from some quick stumpings at 2nd base, with some excellent fielding by Jennifer and Sarah in the near deep . The crowd grew as other matches finished and by the end the enthusiastic crowd were cheering the rounders home for Amesbury, a great atmosphere. Amesbury scoring 10 in the second innings.

A fantastic effort by all the girls, well done.
