Wednesday 28th June
U10B V Conifers
Lost 14-10
Batter of the match: Alice
Fielder of the match: Milly
Lady of the match: Milly

The final match of the season was upon us and the girls were all very excited and determined to do their best. Time was on our side so the girls were playing a nice long match of 30 good balls. Amesbury were batting first and Milly let the team into scoring a rounder on her first hit. Straight after Alice followed suit giving Conifers something to worry about. When batting the girls hit the ball with confidence and power. The girls were clearly feeling risky today and were trying hard to score as much possible. Alice went on to score 2 ½ rounders I total with Mia assisting with half a rounder. When it was their time to field the girls knew they had to remain foucsed and watch the ball. Excellent bowling and communication from Millyhad the team all working well together. Flora played brilliantly stumping out 2 players at 2at post. Milly also caught out another player. The girls were all so supportive of each other. Conifers went on to score 7 rounders in the first innings.

Half time chat and oranges gave the girls time to refocus. They knew they had to work on accurate passing when fielding to ensure each other catches the ball. In their second bat Milly had a brilliant innings scoring 3 rounders. Alice and Mia scored 1 rounder each as 2 halves and Ruby scored half a rounder. The girls really supported each other from the batting line giving advice on whether they should run onto the next post or to stay put to not get out. All the girls proceeded to make contact with the ball, sometimes hitting it far out of the diamond. Fielding again and it was time to really tighten up. Clara has quick reactions stumping a player out at 3rd post. Anna played with energy at 2nd post and stumped out x2 players. Milly had another brilliant catch. Isabella worked hard as 3rd deep as one of the opposition always hit the ball her way. She had a very strong overarm throw back into the diamond to 4th post. Camilla was brilliant at stopping the ball every time it came her way at 2nd deep and working well as passing it onto Anna at 2nd post to prevent Conifers from scoring. Unfortunately our girls could not quite hold them off and therefore the final result was 14-10 to Conifers. The girls all played so well together as a team with lots of praise and encouragement for each other. A pleasure to umpire them. Well done.
