U10A Cricket v Longacre: 10 May
As one boy mentioned, “the sun suits me”, which was clearly the case for the team. Amesbury were excited to enjoy the first sunny cricket match of the season and it started with a bang. First ball- first wicket. This set the tone and the fielding was sublime with a some excellent run outs and catches by Archie that any professional Wicket Keeper would be proud of. Everyone contributed with the ball posing a threat, forcing Longacre to play great shots or run carelessly. The boys contained them to 63 all out.
In the Amesbury innings the boys kept their wicket well only losing two wickets. They quickly scored their runs to seal a great opening win of the season. Suns out, guns out clearly. (This may be a little too relaxed,)
