It was finally an afternoon befitting a rounders match and the girls were ready for a challenge.
The first innings was a tight affair with some excellent fielding from Amesbury restricting Cranleigh’s score despite some excellent batting. Amesbury’s batting was not quite firing and so the score was 6-7 to Cranleigh.
In the second innings the wind picked up and so bowling became difficult. Emily A made some amazing catches at 3rd post as did Charlotte at 2nd but Cranleigh set a large total due to some huge hits.
Although the Amesbury batting was far better in the second innings, with Jazzy and Alice scoring several rounders, we could not quite reach Cranleigh’s total with the score finishing 15.5-17
