It was a scorching hot day as Amesbury arrived to play Cranleigh on Wednesday afternoon. Amesbury lost the toss and were sent out to field. Cranleigh had a very talented opening batsmen who started well and would go on to score an impressive half century. There was some good bowling from Amesbury but this was equally matched by the opposition who began to build a strong lead. Cranleigh finished on 166 for 4 after 20 overs.

James and Mark came out to bat and were subject to some good, fast bowling from the Cranleigh attack. Two wickets fell early for Amesbury whilst Tommy came in to try and steady the ship. Tommy hit some good shots that reached the boundary and increased the Amesbury total. Jasper came in to add some runs onto the Amesbury score and was well assisted by Connor. However, unfortunately it wasn’t to be on the day for Amesbury and Cranleigh won by 100 runs.
