Amesbury 4th XI vs Windlesham House 4th XI
It was an absolutely sweltering afternoon when Amesbury set off for the long drive down to Windlesham. On arrival, the sun was beating down and Windlesham were put into bat. They began strongly but the Amesbury bowlers were up to the challenge. Their strongest batsman put up a good fight but was finally broken by some great consistent bowling from the Amesbury attack. From their 20 overs, Windlesham scored 121.
Amesbury went into bat confident they could chase down 121 in 20 overs. They started well, dispatching the bad balls and nudging the good balls for quick singles. Half way through the innings, Amesbury were only 2 runs behind were Windlesham had been at the same point. Unfortunately, Amesbury then lost a couple of quick wickets and the run rate slowed. Amesbury battled hard but fell just short with a total of 108 off their 20 overs.
The game was a fantastic one to watch with some superb performances from everyone with the bat, ball and in the field.
