Amesbury 1st XI 187-6 beat Seaford 76 ao by 111 runs

On a baking summers afternoon Amesbury lost the toss, but were gratefully put in to bat. We started well with Tom and Gus batting steadily before Gus was dismissed. George then game in and attacked immediately, scoring a quick-fire 30 before getting himself out. Seb then batted well for his 54, well accompanied at the end of the innings by a rapid 48 from Frank who was run out just short of his half century.

With the commanding total set by Amesbury we knew that if we bowled well then we would be able to defend the total. Kristian and Fin bowled very well at the start, with a combined economy of under 2 runs an over. The next change bowlers did all the damage, with Ed finishing with 4 wickets. The continuous loss of wickets throughout the innings, coupled with the tight bowling meant that Amesbury were always in control, with Frank wrapping up the victory in his first over.

Great team performance, well done.
