1st Rounders v Seaford College: 3 May

Lost 6 – 10

Players player – Batter: Sophie, Fielder: Roxy

Lady if the match: Honor

A chilly but exciting afternoon for the girls over at Fyfield. The girls started the match with facing 30 good balls and batting first. Unfortunately the pressure had got to them and they struggled to perform their normal high standard at hitting the ball. Seaford College were very quick at fielding the ball to first post where a few of the girls found themselves out. Lily and Roxy managed to score a rounder each with Sophie sprinting to 2nd post to score a couple of half rounders.  Roxy was the last batter remaining at ball 27 and therefore faced the best of 3. Unfortunately Seaford college were just too quick at fielding the ball back into the diamond.

Amesbury were looking strong in the field with Roxy and Honor working brilliantly together. Phoebe and Phoebe made a great catch each, getting out two players. Honor was quick on 2nd post stumping out another 2 players. Emily, Sophie and Betty demonstrated excellent fielding skills with long barriers, followed by accurate throwing back into the diamond.  Matilda continued to bowl with accuracy at the opposition.

In the second innings both teams came back with tighter fielding, making it hard for each other to score. A tough game for the 1st Rounders team, but they continued to work hard till the final ball.

Well done girls.

Louise Williams, Head of Girls Games
