On Tuesday 3rd May, Amesbury was targeted by a scam which resulted in the compromise of a user account. This was subsequently used to send in the region of 4000 SPAM messages to a wide range of known and unknown contacts of the user.
We have taken steps to inform staff and current parents of the breach and in consultation with the Information Commissioners Office we are publishing this news story to inform 3rd parties who may have also received the message.
No data other than e-mail contacts was utilised or exfiltrated from the user account and measures were immediately taken to secure the account against future access.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. If you fell victim to the SPAM message, then advice and guidance as to your next steps can be found here: https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/phishing-scams
