Athletics Day at Amesbury was a true celebration of the Summer Term. The friendly yet competitive spirit that we see between the houses was at the forefront and of course the delight of Amesburians being able to compete in a range of athletics disciplines. To allow for social distancing we altered the event to run over two days.
During day 1 Year 3 and 8 competed in a Quad Kids format allowing all children to participate in four events and a relay. The competition was close and the children thoroughly enjoyed participating in two runs, javelin and jumping events.
During day 2 Pre-Nursery to Year 2 athletes enjoyed their running races, relays and of course their novelty race with a minibeast theme. Years 1 and 2 also participated in the Quad Kids format which was great fun.
Our sports days were a great success with many school records broken across the disciplines, some hard-fought races and excellent sportsmanship on display. Well done to everyone!
