The annual Haslemere Sports Awards took at Haslemere Town Hall on Wednesday 9 October. The superbly run event celebrates the local community sporting achievements as well as a secondary celebration of awarding 10 bursaries for aspiring International sportspeople.
Amesbury has proudly sponsored an award for this event for many years but this year it was pleasing to see that a number of current and past Amesburians as well as an Amesbury parent being recognised in numerous awards throughout the evening.
Wilf, Hector and Milo (all in Year 5) are all members of Beacon Hill Junior Football Club Under 9s Jets, who were awarded the Junior Sports Team of the Year
Lily (daughter of Amesbury’s Chairman of Governors) received the award for Young Volunteer of the Year with Frensham Pond Sailability
Lucas received an award for Junior Sports Personality with Grayshott Cricket Club
Mrs Brooks an Amesbury Parent received an award for Special Services to Sport with Fernhurst Football Club
Huge congratulations to the above worthy winners and well done to all of you that help
out in the local community sporting arenas in whatever capacity it may be.
