Zac, Max C, Cameron W, Tom B and Cameron D of our Amesbury Tchoukball players and Ollie C who left Amesbury last year, enjoyed a fabulous development weekend with Tchoukball UK over half term. Teams from across the UK met in Bury St Edmunds for a weekend of skills development and match play. The visiting Hungarian National teams added international flavour and expertise and the opportunity to play in a friendly ‘international’ match.
Saturday morning was dedicated to drills and skills development followed by match play. Amesbury players joined the Fareham team on the first day playing in some very exciting and competitive matches, M12’s finished 3rd and U15 Boys came 1st.
On Sunday, new teams were made up from each of the clubs. This heightened the need for excellent communication between players who did not know each other and in some cases didn’t speak the same language! It was fantastic to see the players putting their new skills into practice and taking on the challenge and they played 4 matches in total. Amesbury M12 players ended playing against each other in a fast-paced and incredibly exciting final battling it out for a 1st/ 2nd place with only 1 point dividing them at the whistle. In the U15s in the mixed team, Cameron D’s team won!
It was a wonderful opportunity which was enthusiastically embraced by each of the Amesbury pupils.
Well done to all involved.
