School News

We are delighted to announce that Cameron has been selected to play cricket for Hampshire this summer at U11 level and is also playing regularly for the U12 South East District side.  It’s a wonderful achievement and one we are very proud of here at Amesbury.

This year, after a long winter of training, hard work and dedication, Cameron was selected from 40 boys to be in the match squad, for the age group above, for South East Hampshire. His quick hands working with the spin bowlers has resulted in regular stumpings in every match.  He has also proved to be a stubborn batsman who doesn’t give away his wicket easily, regularly scoring in the 30s and 40s in 20 over matches.

Cameron first joined Grayshott Cricket Club with some Amesbury friends at the age of seven where he quickly demonstrated excellent hand eye coordination and loved the individual skill required for Cricket, combined with the camaraderie and spirit of a team environment. His talent was quickly recognised by the coaches and he was nominated for the Hampshire development programme.

Since the age of nine he has played at least one year above his age group at Grayshott Cricket Club. After a very strong first season both as a natural bowler and demonstrating flair with the bat, including an innings of 75 not out, Cameron has spent the last 2 years representing South East Hampshire for the age group above.

Congratulations Cameron and keep up the hard work.
