Tennis Player News

IAPS Tennis U/11 mixed team won Gold Plate Medal and U/13 mixed team won Bronze main draw medal. Fantastic achievement With 45 schools taking part this was above and beyond on performance.
U11 team Hayden, Oliver, Maia and Iona all played a year early and came away with the gold plate medal, therefore coming 9th out of 24 schools. We lost to Hall Grove by a point and then proceeded to beat Marlborough House, Castle Court and then Kings Hawford in the Final where again it was all down to the last sudden death point! The format was boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles and girls doubles and then a mixed doubles shoot out if it was tied.

U13 mixed team of Finn, Ethan (playing up by 2 years), Betty and Bo (playing up a year). We started off by beating St.Neots, then Dulwich in the ¼ Finals, then we hit Millfield B team in the ½ Final and only lost 4-2 in a very close battle. That meant we had a 3rd,4th playoff against Culford and it was 3 all after the singles and straight doubles, so it went to a mixed doubles shoot out and Finn and Bo teamed up as brother and sister and beat the opposition 10-7!
A thrilling climax to the competition of 21 teams and therefore we received the Bronze medal for 3rd overall, massive achievement!

Andy Warry Head Coach was onsite the whole weekend with some very loyal parents and said it was very much worth the trip to Millfield in Somerset, all children got massive amounts out of it and thoroughly deserved their silverware!
