U8 B Netball vs Brookham
Score: Won 8-2
Players player: Ella
Lady: Alice Y

It has been great to see the progress that the U8’s have made so far this term. In this match they were enthusiastic, hard working and showed a good understanding of the rules of netball.

Amesbury got off to a flying start, quickly racing into a 3-0 lead with some excellent movement and good shooting. Although the marking from Amesbury was good, the next step is to start to look at the ball as well as the player. At half time the score was 3-0 to Amesbury.

The second half was very similar to the first with good footwork and dodging meaning that Amesbury enjoyed most of the possession. Our defence had more to do in this half, making some well timed interceptions. Brookham started to stage a comeback and scored 2 goals. Amesbury responded well to this, scoring 3 more goals to make the final score 8-2 to Amesbury. Well done girls!

U8A V Brookham
Won 5-0
Players Player: Anya
Lady of the match: Jessica

What a fantastic netball match for the U8A netball team this afternoon. From the first centre pass the girls were enthusiastic and determined to win. Jessica made some brilliant interceptions on the outside of the D followed by some lovely passing back into the shooters. Tilly had a super game as WA where she really remembered to support the shooters outside the D, making herself available for them to pass back to her. Libby and Amelia worked brilliantly together as the shooters. They communicated well, supported each other and were shooting with confidence. Poppy continued to show great desire and want for the ball, really snatching it in and making it hers. Annie played solidly in defence, determined to not let the ball past her. Anya and Elodie very rarely touched the ball due to the team playing so well together and keeping possession down the attacking end. However, they continued to watch the ball well and when it did venture down their end they were quick to react and stop the ball going any further.

The girls all played brilliantly together with some accurate passing and communication down the court. It was great to see so many of the skills taught come into play in to today’s match. Well played girls.
