U10A V Highfield
Drew 11
Batter of the match: Jasmine
Fielder of the match: Charlotte
Lady of the match: Charlotte

A scorcher of an afternoon on the Highfield rounders pitch. The girls were prepared with lots of water and plenty of shade and were very determined to get out there and show Highfield what they could do. The girls started the game by batting first and so knew they had to score as much as possible. Lissie, Laura and Lyla all scored on their first bat putting the score to 2 rounders. Katie, Jazzie and Emily also all went on to score a number of rounders and half rounders between them. The girls batted brilliantly and watched the ball well when running round the posts. After a quick water break the girls were fielding. Thye played brilliantly with Charlotte, Lyla and Laura all stumping the opposition out and Lucy had an excellent catch. The team really worked well together with lots of communication and team work. At half time the score was 5-3 to Amesbury.

In the second innings of batting the girls really started to risk it to ensure they scored as many rounders as possible. Jazzy, Lissie, Katie, Charlotte, Laura and Lyla all scored at least half a rounder, if not more. As a team they had a total of 6 rounders in the second innings with some super hits. Back in the field again and the girls really bought it together as a team. Emily stumped 3 players out at 1st post and charlotte 1 at second post. Katie played well as backstop with quick reactions and a lovely over arm throw to Charlotte on 2nd post. Charlotte has a fantastic game and was a very reliable person on 2nd post with ‘safe hands’ the catch every single ball coming her way. Alice, Jazzy. Lissie and Emily worked hard as deep fielders demonstrating long barriers followed by accurate throwing back into the diamond. The end result was a draw of 11 rounders. This team worked brilliantly together with lots of praise and encouragement for each other. It was a pleasure to umpire their game today. Well done girls
