The Under 11s produced their best performance of the season to record a comfortable victory over Belmont. Batting first, Amesbury raced to an impressive score of 159 for 2 off 20 overs. Lucas (53 retired), Jamie (40), Toby (24 not out) and Max (16 not out) all batted well. All the boys bowled 2 overs. Wickets were shared between Elliott, Toby, Max, Lucas and Jamie. Belmont scored 137 for 7.

Result: a victory to Amesbury by 25 runs

Mr Donaldson

The Under 11 B team played Belmont school on a scorching hot afternoon at Amesbury last Wednesday. We lost the toss and the visitors put us in to bat. We had decided to play a pairs game, which was Belmont’s wish, and all our pairs of batsmen made a useful contribution to a decent total of 125 for five wickets. With minus 5 for each wicket in the pairs game, our final total was 100. Joss, Jake, Olly, Rory and Joe all made good contributions with the bat.

In reply, Belmont managed 77 for five wickets, so after their deductions they were well short of our total only scoring 52.

So, a good victory for the Amesbury side in very testing conditions for all except Mr Bacharini, who was just starting to warm up a bit!
