On a fine British summer Amesbury’s 3rd’s had a beautiful game of cricket ahead of them with the idyllic scenery of Seaford. With Amesbury in to bat first, the boys scored steadily showing great composure and control. Wickets fell in twos providing periods of uncertainty but the consistency of defence by Hugh stability was regained. His partnership of 50 with Williem. Williem played worthy of an IPL innings scoring 44 off 45. His pull shot stretched the field and helped Amesbury reach an impressive score of 107. In the field Amesbury fielded eagerly and brilliant bowling from Finn, Eddie and Fred kept Seaford at an arms length away. In final quarter of the innings some brilliant batting helped make for a great finale. 24 off 17 needed, 11 off 6. It was a tense finish. With one ball to go they needed 3 to draw. Amesbury all headed to the boundary. The ball was bowled as a wide (2 runs, no extra ball), Chris caught it behind, they ran a single. A draw. A tough finish but great game.
