U11B Cricket v Longacre: 10 May
Last Wednesday the Under 11 B’s travelled with Mr. Lawrence to Longacre school in the heart of the Surrey countryside to play a pairs cricket match against a combined Year 5 and Year 6 side. The weather was fine and sunny and we enjoyed our game of pairs cricket well enough, but as a match it was rather one-sided with our opposition clearly not as strong as we were. Our pairs all batted well after having been put in by Longacre, the best being our Year 5 contingent of Jacob and Gabriel who scored 45 between them and Joshua and Sam who also scored 45.
So, we posted a daunting target of 201 which Longacre, in reply, fell short of by 184 runs. Well, you can only beat the team in front of you and the Amesbury boys did that very efficiently with some tidy bowling following on from our successful batting effort. Well done!
