U9B Rounders v Westbourne House: 27 April

Friday 28 Apr 2017

Won: 12 1/2 v 10

Lady of the Match – Hattie

The journey to Chichester seemed to pass quickly on Thursday afternoon, the B team chatted in the mini bus and were excited ready for their first match of the term. Amelia was captain, won the toss at the start and chose to field first. In the field, Elsie caught out a Westbourne House player brilliantly and great bowling. It was Jemima’s first match and with Ellie in the field, they were a great support behind second post. Ellie guided Jemima and they were a good team. Rebecca was backstop, her overarm throw to 2nd post was accurate and her and Amelia managed to get the opposition out when they hit behind and were risking it to second post. Daisy was ready inside the 3rd post and read the game well.

In the first innings of batting the U9B team scored 5 1/2 rounders, Westbourne House had scored 4 1/2. There were lots of half rounders and a full rounder from Hattie. In the second innings it was all to play for. It was the batting in the second innings which won them the game. There were more full rounders scored from Isabelle P-B, Hattie and Rebecca, and great half rounders from Isabelle C and Jazzy. Westbourne House had scored 5 1/2 rounders so there was a score of 10 to beat.

The U9B team played as a team and it was a wonderful first performance, well done girls.
