U9C Cricket v Hoe Bridge: 4 May

Won 63-59 runs

It was a cool day with the sun barely peeking through the clouds as the U9C team made their way to Hoebridge. There was a stiff breeze blowing across the ground as the team strode. onto the field, which they thought might help in their batting endeavours later on. The boys were full of anticipation and raring for the start.

As the visiting side the team was given the option as to whether to bat or bowl first and decided that they would field feeling that they could then chase down the target set by the opposition. Some fantastic fielding by the boys, coupled with some excellent bowling kept the total score to a mere 59, a total the team felt was eminently achievable.

As the team went out to bat in their pairs, there was an air of confidence emanating from them. Each pair slowly chipped away at the total and as the final over loomed the boys needed a few runs to win, which the final pair knocked off with a couple of balls to spare, achieving a total of 63 runs.

This was a tight, closely fought match which the team thoroughly enjoyed, coming out deserving victors at the end.
