U8A Cricket v Churchers Junior: 4 May

Lost Amesbury 280 Churchers 310-3

The U8As were put into bat by Churchers who had some strong bowlers. Amesbury found it difficult initially to get scoring however managed to find their rhythm and after some superb shot selection from all batsman, the team posted a very respectable total of 280 without losing a wicket.

Amesbury then went into the field and were certainly not afraid to put their bodies on the line. Some excellent work, diving around in the field, from everyone ensured that shots that would normally find themselves racing over the boundary rope, resulted in nothing more than a dot ball. Unfortunately, even with the loss of 3 wickets, Churchers managed to dispatch the bad balls more effectively than Amesbury had managed in their innings and finished with a total of 310-3.

Plenty to work on for the remainder of the season but a fantastic team effort.
